What does Six Mile Bottom Shoot do to ensure its environmental credentials and sustainability?
We firmly believe we have strong environmental credentials. A simulated game shoot at Six Mile Bottom is a day out in the fresh air, in a beautiful countryside setting.
Minimal environmental impact
We rent the outdoor location from the landowner – there is no lasting impact on environment during a simulated shoot other than the occasional footprint. Our key priority is the care and responsible use of our unspoilt rural countryside location.
What about local wildlife?
No animals or birds are harmed in anyway during a shoot. We use simulated targets entirely in the form of clay pigeons.

What about the equipment?
The clay pigeons that we use are eco-friendly and carcinogen free, they are made from coal dust and resin. They are 100% biodegradable.
We insist and ensure that only fibre-wad cartridges are used – these are also 100% biodegradable – and offer a viable, environmentally friendly alternative to single-use plastic wad. We will always meticulously remove and clear spent cartridge shells during and after every shoot.
Steel shot is being introduced to replace lead shot, and although more expensive, will obviously still destroy the target, and is considerably less harmful to the environment.
